WHAT MAKES GICLÉE STUDIOS DIFFERENT?
Coming from backgrounds in fashion, homewares and art, when photographing our subjects we view them through a different lens and believe this gives our collection a unique and original perspective.
Having spent time travelling the world from Mexico to Palm Springs, Miami, Arizona, New York, LA, Australia and New Zealand, we are pleased to offer a curated a range of original, archival photography prints.
We pride ourselves in delivering not only high-quality and unique print content, but also in using only the latest technology printers, print using giclée fine-art pigment inks and museum-grade archival paper.
All of our prints come unframed, however we can recommend high-quality framers in each state or city to frame your print and can facilitate the framing and shipping within Australia on special request, just email us at email@example.com.
WHAT IS A GICLÉE PRINT?
Giclée printing is a French term meaning ‘to spray’ and refers to the highest quality, fine-art printing technique. We use giclée printing for all of our unframed photography prints and photograph using professional, high-level resolution cameras.
Giclée prints are age resistant and are the industry standard worldwide used in museums and galleries for fine art photography and art reproduction.
WHAT TYPE OF PAPER DO YOU USE?
We print on premium, museum grade 305gsm smooth, cotton rag archival paper with a matte finish, and use archival, pigment based inks to ensure the finest quality, age-resistant art prints available.
WHAT TYPE OF PRINTER DO YOU USE?
All of our works are printed in Melbourne, Australia. We use the newest technology Canon Prograf 12 colour (RGB) professional inkjet machine, specifically designed for fine art giclée printing and is calibrated by one of the leading industry colour professionals.
WHAT PRINT RESOLUTION DO YOU USE?
To be able to have such high quality prints, we use high level resolution cameras for all of our photography - a standard digital camera achieves a resolution of 72 DPI (dots per inch), our image resolution is 300 DPI (dots per inch). The greater number of colours per inch allows us to have the highest quality photos and enables us to print with incredible colour, clarity and detail.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
We have curated a range of original photographs that have been captured exclusively by Giclée Studios and are available to buy at different size options and orientations to suit your home, office or business. All of our prints are printed in Melbourne, Australia and once printed are carefully rolled in tissue paper and bubble wrap and mailed in a mailing tube to your designated address.
As all of our prints come unframed, we can recommend external framers to frame your artwork for an additional cost and recommend not opening or taking your print out of the tube, but leaving that for the framer to handle so as not to damage or dirty your print prior to framing.
If you’re not sure what size or design will suit your space, we’re able to mock up some options for you - just email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
From order confirmation we need a maximum of three days processing time and aim to have your print printed and dispatched within one week of receiving your order.
All our prints are all made to order and printed in Melbourne, we don’t hold stock in our studio so you can be sure you’re getting the highest-quality print.
WHAT ARE YOUR SHIPPING TERMS?
All of our prints are rolled in tissue paper and bubble wrap and packaged in a secure mailing tube to avoid any damage in transit. We proudly use 100% carbon neutral shipping partners to deliver your prints to you wherever you are in the world.
Domestic: Please allow 2-3 days processing time on all orders and up to one week for printing, we aim to have your print to you within two weeks of order placement, but generally we are able to deliver to you faster than this.
We offer a flat rate of $10.00 standard shipping Australia wide.
International: All International orders will be sent by air with tracking and insurance, please be aware that there may be some delays due to COVID-19 affecting some deliveries. However we will keep you updated constantly throughout the delivery process.
DO YOU OFFER FRAMING?
We’re currently not offering framing through our website, however we do work with high-quality framers Australia wide and are able to help facilitate framing and shipping to you on request.
Internationally it is more economical to frame in your own country and we can recommend framers in your city of residence.
Please email us to discuss framing advice and framing options at email@example.com.
CARING FOR YOUR PRINT
We strongly advise not opening your mailing tube yourself upon receipt to avoid damage or marking your print and having your new artwork framed by a professional. Whilst giclée printing is age-resistant it is not resistant to damage or marking from handling if handled incorrectly.
